Soulbound Online three-player co-op beacon dungeon combat

Dungeon Finder & Matchmaking Guide

Spiderware shipped the cross-world Dungeon Finder in update 5.19 and expanded it for Steam Early Access with region selection and faster party invites. Whether you queue solo for a quick beacon run or roll with two friends, the finder lets you match from anywhere in Virelda or Arcadia without standing at a dungeon portal. This guide covers how to open the UI, choose dungeons and regions, what to expect from random teammates, and how the finder fits into the broader co-op loop now that Early Access is live.

Opening the Dungeon Finder

Press the Events or Social panel shortcut depending on your client version, then select Dungeon Finder from the cross-world lobby menu. The UI lists available beacon dungeons by tier, difficulty, and region — a QoL addition Spiderware highlighted ahead of the July 21, 2026 Steam launch so short-session players could queue without walking to Eastern Reach every time.

From anywhere in the overworld you can tap Find Matchmaking to join a party of up to three Pioneers. Solo players fill empty slots with other queued Pioneers on the same shard policy. Pre-made groups of two can queue together and accept a third matchmade player, or run private invites through the Social tab instead.

Region options let you prefer servers closer to your timezone — critical after the Steam influx when EU, NA, and APAC peaks overlap. If latency spikes during matchmade runs, switch region in the finder before re-queueing rather than blaming extraction timing.

  • Queue from anywhere — no portal travel required.
  • Max 3 players per beacon instance (official).
  • Region selector for latency-friendly matchmaking.
  • Works in browser, Discord, and Steam clients.

Choosing Dungeons and Difficulty

The finder exposes the same tier ladder as manual portal entry: Beginner's Bay tutorial dungeons through Eastern Reach Tier 1–6, with tiers 5 and 6 added at Steam Early Access per press materials. Pick a tier your gear average supports — matchmade groups often assume basic extraction knowledge on Tier 2+.

Hard and Extreme modifiers still apply gear-loss rules documented in our dungeon extraction guide. Do not queue Extreme tiers through the finder until you have practiced Home Portal timing in co-op; random teammates may extract early without warning.

Dungeon Finder complements — not replaces — The Deep onboarding gauntlet from patch 5.19. New Pioneers still benefit from the 50-room co-op tutorial before relying on random matchmaking for Eastern Reach farming.

Etiquette for Matchmade Groups

Use emoji pings (long-press G) or voice if your party agrees — typing during bullet-heaven phases gets people killed. Confirm everyone has bag space before the chest room and agree on extract timing before Tier 2 risk floors.

Hybrid builds are the norm; do not demand a dedicated healer unless you are pushing leaderboard times. A support healer or Fortify user is enough sustain for most finder clears if players dodge telegraphs.

If a teammate disconnects, the three-minute AFK rule may boot them — decide whether to continue or abandon before someone loses gear on a failed Tier 2+ run. Report griefers through official Discord support, not third-party sites.

Dungeon Finder vs Private Parties

Discord Activity parties and Social-tab invites skip matchmaking entirely — ideal for static groups practicing Spectra raid prep. The finder targets players who log in for one quick dungeon between meetings.

Steam Early Access copy emphasizes inviting friends fast, then trading and climbing leaderboards together. Link Spiderware accounts before launch resets so demo and browser friends appear in your Social list when you queue.

For week-one priorities after July 21, pair finder runs with Pioneer Guild contracts and community events rather than grinding the same tier endlessly — see our EA week-one guide for a balanced schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Dungeon Finder solo?
Yes. Solo queue fills your party with up to two other matchmade Pioneers. You can also run true solo by entering dungeons manually without the finder.
Does the region option affect loot or progress?
Region selection affects matchmaking latency and shard population, not loot tables. Your character progress remains account-wide across regions on the live service.
When was Dungeon Finder added?
Patch 5.19 introduced the cross-world lobby. Steam Early Access added region options and faster invite flow per Spiderware pre-launch blog posts.
Can I queue for Spectra through the finder?
Standard finder lists beacon dungeon tiers. Spectra and Abyssal Raid use separate event or story portals — see our Spectra walkthrough for group requirements.
