Soulbound: Online World Map Overview
Navigation in Soulbound: Online spans three map layers — a corner minimap, a zone map opened with M, and a zoomed-out world map showing every major region. Understanding how quests, dungeons, and exits appear on each layer saves hours of wandering and keeps your extraction runs on schedule. This overview ties together every zone in the overworld so you always know where to go next, whether you are chasing a main quest, farming contracts, or heading to a beacon dungeon.
Three Map Layers Explained
The minimap sits in the upper-right corner and shows nearby terrain, structures, and players in real time. Click it to path toward a destination in the overworld — a fast way to reach an NPC or crafting station without opening the full map. It does not show distant quest objectives, so switch to the zone map when you need the bigger picture.
Press M or click the globe icon beneath the minimap to open the zone map. This view displays connected sub-locations within your current major zone, including main quests, sidequests, dungeon entrances, and zone exits. You can still move with WASD controls while the map is open, which makes repositioning during navigation much smoother. Zoom with + / − or the mouse wheel; clicking an active quest highlights its location or next objective on the map.
Zoom out fully while the zone map is open to reveal the world map. Major zones appear as distinct regions you can click to plan travel routes. Soulbound: Online currently features Virelda, Arcadia, Neo-Tilus, Everdune & Farpoint, and The Foundation as primary overworld hubs. Each zone hosts its own NPCs, beacon dungeons, guild masters, and crafting access points.

Reading Map Icons and Quest Tracking
Hovering over icons on the zone map reveals names and descriptions for main quests, sidequests, dungeon entrances, and zone exits. Main quest markers should be your default priority when you feel lost — the story naturally routes you through Virelda, unlocks Arcadia access, and eventually sends you toward desert outposts and advanced hubs.
Dungeon portals on the map correspond to both beacon instanced runs and overworld dungeon areas. Beacon dungeons in Virelda, Everdune, and Farpoint use a floor-based timer that counts up and increases difficulty; the map helps you identify which portal leads where before you commit to a party. Overworld dungeons blend into the open world without a rigid timer, though world bosses like the Cactosaur can appear unpredictably.
Right-click a tracked quest in the left-side quest list to untrack it. If the list clutters your screen, disable it through Quick Menu → Settings. Active contracts from the Pioneer Guild also influence where you travel — stacking the same contract type across Virelda, Everdune, and Farpoint guild masters is a common farming strategy covered in our player economy guide.
Zone Progression and Travel Planning
Most players begin in Beginner's Bay, complete Bulkatron and Scrapclaw tutorial dungeons, then arrive in Virelda as the first true hub. From there the world opens outward: Arcadia becomes your crafting and upgrade center once unlocked, while Everdune and Farpoint offer higher-tier gathering, desert gear recipes, and additional beacon portals.
Plan travel by checking the world map before accepting long contract chains. Mining contracts in Farpoint, foraging in Everdune, and fishing pools near Virelda all require different routes — the world map prevents backtracking across zones you did not intend to visit. Respawning overworld chests (roughly every three hours) also appear at fixed locations community mappers track; use the zone map to mark nearby landmarks before farming routes.
Co-op parties share dungeon portals but navigate the overworld individually. If a friend is waiting at a beacon in Everdune while you are in Arcadia upgrading gear at Fritz's Lab, the world map clarifies which zone exit connects where so nobody sits at a portal wondering why the party leader has not arrived.
